NEESAN

a project by multi-instrumentalist, composer & producer, April Centrone.

NEESAN is the latest project from April Centrone — a New York/Las Vegas–based multi-instrumentalist who’s performed on some of the world’s biggest stages including Coachella, Marciac Jazz and Carnegie Hall. Known to millions for her viral Arabic percussion tutorials and 100K+ online following, April now unveils NEESAN as her next chapter — a reflection on war, loss, healing, and rebirth. The music weaves April’s “voice” through Middle Eastern stringed instruments — oud, buzuq, and saz — layered over psychedelic rock and jazz, shaped by her decades as a touring drumset player.

April's many influences seep through in her compositions, from growing up with big band swing, Led Zeppelin and 90's grunge to her tours with late Lebanese legends, Ziad Rahbani and Bassam Saba. April feels that their spirits and stories live on in her melodies, gently moving her fingers along the strings, establishing a cosmic communication through music - a message of healing, and of hello. In each live performance, NEESAN strives to similarly trust the moment to speak its unique truth and foster space for healing and transmission.
